Boys Trip - A Step Back in History

Tom and Doug got together in late February for a historical WWII road trip.  They drove through Belgium and Luxembourg visiting various famous historical war sites.  The highlight of their trip was a visit to the small Belgian town of Bastogne where the famous Battle of the Bulge took place.  The Americans were literally surrounded on all sides after Hitler made a final decision try to advance back into Belgium.  Due to unfavorable weather conditions, the U.S. Air support could not help and the ground troops were largely outnumbered.  They fought for 15 days til they pushed off the enemy troops and won!  It's considered an incredible victory!  If you want more details check out the HBO Series, Band of Brothers, specifically episode 6.  The local people are still so grateful to the Americans for saving their city that a number of them bought Tom and Doug beers during their visit simply because they were American.  The guys had an awesome time soaking in the history and they managed to try a Belgian beer or two along the way!

11 Months

LOVE our little guy to pieces!  He's pulling up on EVERYTHING and walking along the furniture. He's also our little explorer investigating and checking out everything from the contents of the trash can to what's inside the kitchen cupboards.  He's keeping his mom and dad busy!  This month he discovered how to turn on the bidet all on his own....which left a funny, wet, mess!  We love watching you grow Finnegan Oliver! xoxo
