Fall in Stockholm

Our travel schedule has been packed lately.  Last weekend we were in Stockholm, Sweden and we couldn't have picked a better weekend to go.  Stockholm is a city that is actually a series of connected islands and is full of lush greenery and trees.  And, all of those trees were in the midst of welcoming their fall colors while we were there.  It was so nice to be in the midst of such beautiful nature and brought a sense of calmness to both of us.  We spent the weekend travelling with some great friends of ours here in Warsaw which doubled our fun for this trip!
We loved Stockholm.  What is there not to love?  Tons of nature.  Fantastic minimalistic design.  Gorgeous people everywhere you look.  Shoe stores that sell shoes that actually fit Tom's feet.  And, the chance to eat local Reindeer.  What more could one want?
We spent part of our trip doing a city tour to get acclimated.  Part of the tour was on a bus and the other part was on boat and went around part of the islands.  The boys headed off to an Old Viking ship museum for the afternoon while Julie and I wandered around and checked out the adorable Swedish design shops.  We had a great Swedish dinner that featured, the local delicacy, Reindeer!  And, capped off the night with a few cocktails.  We spent our next day exploring the largest park in Stockholm.  It was huge and we only covered about a third of it.
Stockholm was a great weekend trip and we were so happy that we got to share it with Julie and Jim!  But, a warning...it is a VERY pricy country.  For example, a beer at a bar cost $15.

Great friends, Julie and Jim
