Copenhagen, Denmark

We've been on a bit of a blogging hiatus...but no worries, we're back with lots to report!
In late April we headed off for a weekend adventure to Copenhagen for a special birthday celebration for Tom's good friend, Doug.  Doug wanted to celebrate his birthday in Europe so we told him we'd meet him anywhere he wanted.  He made an awesome choice in Copenhagen!
I had always wanted to visit Denmark since I love pretty much any type of Danish design. And it definitely didn't disappoint.  The weather man must have known it was Doug's birthday weekend as we had unseasonably warm temperatures and sunshine the entire weekend.
We packed a lot into our short weekend and really got a feel for the city.  We started our trip with a walking tour that gave us a good background of the city.  After the tour we headed to one of many beer gardens for the weekend.  We really enjoyed our afternoon at Tivoli Gardens, a famous amusement park that is right in the center of the city in a beautiful garden.  It's a super cool and unique place and has an old school charm to it.  Tom and Doug were convinced that they could master all of the amusement games, but I think they had had one too many beers beforehand.  It was great being on the water and enjoying delicious seafood.
We were thrilled to help Doug celebrate his special day!

Reunited and it feels so good!

A trip to Denmark wouldn't be complete without a viking...
