Belgrade, Serbia
Belgrade has been on our "travel list" for awhile now...so we booked this trip a few months ago as a belated birthday celebration for Tom. We were pleasantly surprised by our trip and found Belgade to be a charming city that reminded us of a mix between Prague, Sofia, and Budapest. We really fit a lot in during our long weekend trip. We toured the City with a guide, including seeing Tito's gravesite, took a cruise on the Danube river, spent the evenings in the picturesque Bohemian district and spent a day touring the famous city of Nowy Siad. The trip was especially great because Finn got to go for his first real swim in the hotel's indoor pool. We had taken him for a little dip in Cyprus, but the water was a bit too cold for his liking. He LOVED the indoor pool and was so happy to be swimming around! We found the Serbian culture to be awesome....the people were super friendly, the live local music was great and the food was delicious..,they are known for their grilled meats and homemade pita-like bread. Yum! Another great Eastern European discovery that we would highly recommend.
