We did have one funny new parent experience that will always be a fun memory. A friend of Tom's had offered to let us stay at his apartment as he was going to be out of town and we were happy to take him up on his offer. So, when we arrived we took the train to the apartment and opened the front door of the charming three floor canal house. I think we both were in shock when we saw the most narrow and winding staircase in front of us...and we had to go up four flights of stairs to reach the apartment. Now, as I mentioned we've traveled to Amsterdam before and of course, are well aware that 90% of the hsing is like this....but for some reason we didn't think about it for this trip. Poor Tom had to lug all of our luggage one piece at a time up these ridiculous stairs while I held a Finn. We had to take apart our stroller and carry it up one piece at a time and it BARELY fit. We spent the first tired night in the apartment and decided that it would not be a good long term solution for Finn and I to be able to get out during the day while Tom was in meetings....so we cashed in some hotel points for the rest of our stay. We still laugh about it now and how our sleep deprived parenting brains forgot to think thru it.
The adventure of the Sullivan's...a husband, wife, little guy, and their dog, Charlie, as they live in Warsaw, Poland.

Finn's First European Adventure....
A few weeks ago Tom had a business trip to Amsterdam so Finn and I tagged along to join him! We flew in the weekend before the meetings so we got to enjoy some great family time. As we've been to Amsterdam before we had no expectations regarding "seeing the sites". We were fortunate to get a good baby and nice sunny weather. We wandered around the adorable and charming streets of the city and one afternoon rented our own boat and took a trip thru the canals with Captain Tom at the helm! It was so much fun and a super cool new way to see the city. I highly recommend it if you ever visit. While daddy was in meetings Finn and I went exploring and checked out some cute shopping areas. All in all, Finn was a great traveler and we were proud parents of surviving our first trip as a family of 3!
