A time to celebrate....

Tom and I have decided to celebrate both the Jewish and Catholic religious traditions associated with the birth of a child.  So, we were fortunate enough to hold and celebrate Finnegan's Bris ceremony during my parents visit.  We worked with the local Rabbi here in Warsaw to arrange everything.  And, since, sadly, the Jewish population of Warsaw is so small today (due to the effects of the war) the Mohel was flown in from New York City for the event.  For those who are unfamiliar, a Mohel, is a special medically trained rabbi who performs Bris ceremonies.  While the Mohel was here he performed a few ceremonies for families in Warsaw.
It was really special to celebrate this life event here in Warsaw as it seemed like a full "circle of life" event.....my paternal grandmother was born in Warsaw and here we were about 90 years later celebrating the birth of our son in Warsaw....pretty surreal!
And, next up to schedule is Finn's baptism!  We are hoping to have Tom's mom here to celebrate that event!
